A Single Draw Mariner's Telescope with fancy ropework barrel by E & G.W. Blunt of New York circa 1824-1830.
Edmund and George William Blunt took over the business from their father in 1824 and this nice example dates to shortly thereafter. The scope is wrapped in sailor ropework probably dating to the first quater of the 20th century. The sliding sun shade and lens cover are in one piece and must be removed together for viewing. Length closed 27" Length extended 38 1/2". Good optics.
