A fine Vellum bound book entitled "Noctium Atticarum" printed in Latin from the Library of King's School, Rochester, Kent, England, printed in 1706
This large (969 pages) and heavy volume is in remarkably good condition given its' age. It measures 10" by 8 1/4" by 2 1/2". It originally was in the Library of England's second oldest public school which was founded in 604 AD. The school was refounded by King Henry VIII during the Protestant Reformation when the monastery at Rochester was dissolved. The cover features an original hand embossed gold emblem of the school's seal with gold embossed acorn decoration in each of the four corners. The book's title is 'Noctium Atticarum', book number 20, and was written by Johannes Fredericus and Jacobus Gronovii in 1706.
