A beautiful 18th century Naval officers' flintlock brass barreled blunderbuss pistol with snap bayonet by James Daniel of Birmingham circa 1780-1790.
Simply wonderful! Three stage 5 1/2" brass barrel going from octagonal to round to cannon barrel. Top mounted snap bayonet with crisp action. Beautifully figured walnut stock with no dings or cracks. Brass lock plate engraved 'James Daniel.' Top of the barrel engraved 'Birmingham.' Two proof marks near the tang. Horn tipped fore stock. Brass triggerguard with acorn finial and engraved 'Tudor' rose. Overall length: 10 1/2" Fabulous museum quality piece!!
