A long (50") 18th century mahogany barreled single-draw Captain's telescope by Walter & Jeremiah Watkins, Charing Cross, London, circa 1790.
This particular scope has a tapering barrel with an added feature of a high-power adjustable pull-out eye piece. Watkins received a Royal Appointment from both the Duke & Duchess of York and the Duke of Clarence.
