Item Title: The Earliest Known Official U. S. Navy Department Uniform Button c. 1795-1805
Item Description: This button is in near mint condition and measures 7/8" diameter. The back is stamped 'double gilt.' The front shows the early 'frog legged' eagle with 11 stars, with an anchor on the eagle's breast. Very rare!
