A Magnificent 18th century Mahogany Bombe form Tea Caddy Box with its' original sterling silver cannisters by Francis Crump, London, 1757.
Consisting of two sterling silver tea caddy cannisters and a sterling silver sugar bowl, all of inverted pear form, each chased with flowerheads and spirally fluted panels. Each cannister also has an engraved coat-of-arms within a chased scroll cartouche and has a flower bud finial. The beautifully figured mahogany bombe form box retains its' original velvet lined fitted interior with silver bullion threaded borders. It sits on four bold sterling silver ball and claw feet and has an engraved silver key hole escutcheon plate. Length: 11 1/2" Height: 7 1/2" Depth: 6 1/2". A most impressive set!
