Framed Grouping of 18th and 19th Century GEORGE WASHINGTON Memorabilia Including His Signature
Seldom have I seen a more attractively framed grouping of rare and historical memorabilia associated with George Washington. Included is his signature on a "Potomac Company" document dated Nov. 15, 1786. He was elected president of the company when it was formed in 1785. Two other officers of the company have their signatures below his: George Gilpin and John Fitzgerald. The object in the center is a bronze depiction of a monument to Washington circa 1830-1860. The prints are both 18th century. Below are two rare 19th century 'Washington at Boston 1776' medals, one showing the obverse and one the reverse of the same medal. The entire grouping has been elaborately framed in a solid mahogany mat with matching frame which in iteslf would cost a small fortune today.
