19th century Ebony Bookstand With Porcupine Quill Spindles and Ivory Inlays

Probably made in India circa 1875, this beautiful bookstand is profusely inlaid with ivory and measures 16" long by 5 1/4" high by 5 1/4" deep. The use of porcupine quills is not common and this piece is one of the best examples of this form of art that I have seen.
