This gorgeous 6 volume set was rebound with hand tooled leather spines and marbelized boards. The books are large and heavy and measure 10 1/2" by 14 3/4" by 2 1/2". The books were written by Fathers Catrou and Rouille and printed in London by John Bettenham between 1728-1737. They are profusely illustrated with wonderful copper plate engravings of Roman scenes, maps of the Roman Empire and much more. The books themselves are in virtually unread condition. There is no foxing, toning or flaking. The pages are as they were originally printed nearly 300 years ago.
