Freeman Snow was born in 1826 and died in 1895. This group of ephemera includes 1) a Time Book for the Steamship 'Oriental' from 1866-1867 where he served as Captain 2) Personal ledger book of Captain Freeman for the year 1872 while still Captain of the Oriental 3) A personal summary of all Capt. Freeman's voyages and ships' served on from 1842 to 1882. At the end of this 9 page summary he states that he crossed the Equator 28 times, sailed around the Cape of Good Hope 9 times and Cape Horn 11 times. 4) A Track Chart of the Ship New Era when it traveled from New York to Yokohama, Japan in 1879 and Capt. Snow was its' captain 5) Another Track Chart while Captain of the Electra on its' voyage from New York to Java, Batavia in 1880. Captain Snow mainly traveled between Boston and Nova Scotia and Boston and New Orleans and spent over 40 years at sea.
