This wonderful engraved inkstand has the arms of one of London's earliest livery companies, that of The Worshipful Company of Skinners, founded in the 15th century, who were once, as the name implies, involved with the trade of skins and furs. Below the coat-of-arms is the motto "To God only be all Glory." The box appears to have been engraved in 1905, with Mr. L.A. West being Master of the Company. Also named are W.F. Horvie and F.G. Wheeler, Wardens of the Company. The inkstand measures 9 1/2" wide, 5" deep and 3" high.
