A Fine Antique Tortoiseshell Necessaire with Gold Floral Pique Decoration, circa 1870

Measuring just over 4" high and 2 3/4" wide, this beautiful little box is lined in a blue velvet. The inner edges of the box are done is ivory. Even the bottom is made out of tortoiseshell, which is quite unusual. An exceptional box for the discriminating collector!
