This very attractive and seldom seen gentlemen's (probably officer's) campaign style mahogany shaving kit and dressing box has three fitted compartments. Some of the original contents are missing but what is still included are the following: two metal canisters, and ivory handled razor, a bone handled brush, an ivory needle case, a gold mounted ivory fountain pen, steel boot straps, two ivory handled pocket knives, a cork screw and a pair of tweezers. Note: A nearly identical box made by the same manufacturer is illustrated and described in Nicholas Brawer's BRITISH CAMPAIGN FURNITURE 1740-1914, page 143, published in 2001.
