A fine Cased Pair of Over and Under Boxlock Percussion Pistols by John Blisset, London, c. 1840

This fine set includes a beautiful fitted 'tiger' mahogany case with the original trade label of 'JOHN BLISSET.' The pistols each have London proof marks, 2 inch rotating double barrels, engraved frames, muzzles, tangs and butts, dolphin hammers, drop triggers, safety, checkered walnut grips, silver escutcheons, screw-out wormer in the butt. All the original accessories appear to be there. Lastly, there is a paper snippet with the engraved name 'Francis W. Rhodes,' who may have been the original owner of this fine set. This is a very attractive cased set in fine original condition!
