A fine early 19th century three-draw pocket telescope signed "Berge late Ramsden, London" circa 1802-1810.

Mahogany three-draw. Length closed: 7 1/8" Extended: 21". Matthew Berge worked for the famous instrument maker Jesse Ramsden and upon Ramsden's death in 1800, took over the business. Berge himself died in 1819. This is a very nice example with extremely good optics. The scope comes complete with a 19th century leather case.
