A fine late 18th century English tap action over/under brass barreled flintlock pistol

This beautiful example was made by "B & M Redfern" circa 1790-1800. The initials "J H C" are also inscribed on the left side of the lower barrel. The walnut grips are beautifully inlaid with silver cornucopias as well as a silver flower urn escutcheon. The pistol is .50 cal. with 3.75" barrels, the overall length being 8.5."
