A Fine Late 18th century Relief Carved 'Kentucky' Rifle Attributed to Wolfgang Haga of Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania, circa 1793.

This fine gun is a reconversion back to flint. There are no splits, dents or repairs to the beautifully colored and patinated curly maple stock. The relief carving is strong with all inlays tight and no replaced screws. There is an old and insignificant repair to the barrel tang. Wolfgang Haga died in 1796 and this gun is a fine example of his work. See pages 196-202 in 'Thoughts on the Kentucky Rifle in its Golden Age' by Joe Kindig.
