A fine pair of late 18th century brass barreled "Innkeeppers" coaching pistols inscribed "Whyte Hart, Bletchingley"

This very fine pair of "Innkeepers" coaching pistols are inscribed "Whyte Hart, Bletchingley" and also have the innkeepers name on the brass oval escutcheon plate "William F." Each pistol has its' side plate inscribed "No. 1 and No. 2" respectively. The pistols measure 14" overall and have 9" round brass barrels inscribed "LONDON" and have proof stamps. The full length walnut stocks are in excellent condition. The ramrods appear to be the original with one having a steel worm at the end. The brass trigger guard is engraved with a tudor rose and has an acorn finial. The steel lockplate is engraved "KETLAND & Co." Overall, a very handsome pair of pistols from a famous and historic coaching inn, one of the few surviving Medieval Inns in Britain today opened in 1388 and seeped in history.
