A fine pair of ROYAL WINDSOR solid bronze bookends circa 1900

Made in England, it would be hard to find another pair of antique bookends of this quality in solid bronze. The front depicts Windsor Castle with a stag with antlers flanking the Royal Coat-of-Arms with crown above. The back is inscribed "ROYAL WINDSOR CASTLE, founded by Edward III 1327-1377 William of Wykeham, the Architect built the Great Round Tower: The Most prominent feature of the building: A most interesting feature is the magnificent Chapel of St. George, instituted by Edward III on St. Georges Day 1344."
