A fine vintage SHIP-IN-A BOTTLE depicting the U S Coast Guard Academy's sail training ship the EAGLE

Built in Germany in 1936, the ship was claimed as 'war reparation' in 1946 and has served as the Academy's sail training vessel since then. Wonderful detail. The decorative liquor bottle that holds the model is quite unique. I would guess that the model dates to circa 1950.
