A George III period Silver Mounted Mahogany Cutlery Box by Edward Dobson, London, 1778

The sterling silver mounts are all hallmarked and include the open work lid handle, side mounted lifting handles, engraved lock plate, hinges and three ball and claw feet. The box itself is made out of wonderful 'flame' mahogany with ebony edges. The fitted interior retains its' original green velvet lining with silver bullion thread. W 9 1/2" D 9 3/4" H 14"
