A good late 18th or early 19th century English Naval Officer's 'Fighting' Dirk circa 1790-1820

A very nice example in good condition. The dirk's blade has feint traces of the original gilt etching and also has the name of 'W. Kirk' engraved on it. The lion head pommel is crisp and sharp and retains nearly 90% of its original gilt finish. The early form carved ivory grip has no age cracks and is beautifully patinated. Although there is no scabbard, this 'fighting' dirk is worthy of any fine collection. Overall length: 16 3/4" Note: Further research may identify the original owner and his history.
