A large and fine pair of Abraham Lincoln bookends made by the Pompeian Bronze Company circa 1925

SOLD

One of the nicest and most impressive pairs of Lincoln bookends that I have ever owned. Wonderful bronze patina highlighted with the pale green patina in the crevices. These are quite rare in this size and condition. The backs are inscribed "LINCOLN" and "Pompeian bronze". The nape of the neck of one of the bookends shows where the metal did not form properly in the casting process. This is not damage from being mishandled or dropped. It has since been filled in with a matching bronze colored wax. Each bookend weighs 5 pounds and stands nearly 8 1/2" high, 3 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" deep. Simply a wonderful pair of bookends.
