Retaining its' original fitted mahogany case, this nice example has a beautiful 'plum pudding' mahogany barrel and stands on graceful folding cabriole legs. At least 60% of the original lacquered finish remains on the brass fittings. Length of telescope closed: 29". Objective lens: 2 3/4". Good clear optics. NOTE: Thomas Blunt was appointed Royal Instrument Maker to King George III in 1785.
