A lovely pair of chocolate bronze finished JOHN HARVARD bookends by Jennings Brothers circa 1920

Fabulous color and patina. Replaced felt bases. Slightly loose on the chair. Very early examples of the sculpture sitting in Harvard Yard since 1884. John Harvard (1607-1638) left his 400 volume scholar's library to a college in Cambridge later named after him.
