They don't come any better than this !!! A real 'Work of Art' encompassing the highest levels of 18th century gunmaking in England. This magnificent large caliber box-lock flintlock pistol has its' figured walnut stock profusely inlaid with decorative silver wire in the 'rococco' style. Specifically, the gun features silver flower heads, silver escutcheon plate and one of the best silver 'grotesque mask' butt caps that I have ever seen !!. The underside of each barrel has British proof marks and the brass frame is inscribed "PARKES, LONDON" and dates to circa 1770. The steel trigger guard is engraved with a rose within a diamond. Complete with its' original brass tipped ramrod. Overall length: 13".
