A Mid 19th century American Sailor-Made Inlaid Oak Box with Unusual Glass Covered Photo Aperture

Probably a ladies work box, this beautiful oak box is inlaid with compass rose and other inlays in ebony, walnut and cherry. The photo aperture is the first I have ever seen. Complete with original key. Depth 7 3/4" Height 4 3/8" Width 11"
