A nice Boxed Ship's Compass by D. Baker of Boston circa 1875

Measuring 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 5", this nice example has a beautiful bright marine bronze frame and gimbal set into a fitted mahogany case, the top of which is not original to the piece but is of the period. The dial is in near mint condition and clearly shows the patent date on 1875.
