A RARE and early Peter and John Dollond shagreen and card three-draw telescope circa 1760-1780

SOLD

A very rare and early example made by John Dollond I (1752-1762) or Peter Dollond (1750-1773). The 8 1/2" main tube has polished brass mounts and is signed on the first draw tube. Original lenses and amazingly good optics for a telescope of this age. Length closed: 10 1/2" Length extended: 31 1/2"
