A RARE book titled "The Text-Book of the Washington Benevolent Society" published by George Hough in 1812.

This original first edition is illustrated and contains 106 pages. The book retains its' original hardcover paper covered boards with leather spine embossed with gilt. The book contains a Biography of Washington along with a chapter on his 'Character', another chapter giving his Farewell Address to the People of the United States and lastly a chapter on the Federal Constitution. The book measures 3 3/8" by 5 1/2". There is some expected light foxing, otherwise the book is in very nice condition. The book is complete and has an impressive bust portrait of George Washington with the legend reading "His Path be ours." A very rare book indeed.
