A RARE Button worn at the Inaguration of GEORGE WASHINGTON, March 4, 1789

George Washington inagural buttons are in general quite rare but this is considered by many to be one of the rarest versions. It is in near 'mint' condition. A clasp was added many years ago to allow it to be worn as a pin rather than as a button which does not affect its value. The center of the button has Washington's initials in script 'GW" and is surrounded by 'Long Live the President.' Next comes a chain of the initials of the original 13 States. NOTE: Recent examples have sold at auction for up to $10,000. This is an opportunity to acquire a real rarity!
