A rare early 18th century Dutch painted blown glass wine bottle with portrait of Lt. Admiral Pieter Pieterszoon Hein (1577-1629), Admiral of the Dutch fleet.

This beautiful and rare early 18th century Dutch blown glass globular wine bottle stands approximately 12" high. It was painted in the early 19th century and features a portrait of Lt. Admiral Pieter Pieterszoon Hein (1577-1629), privateer and Admiral of the Dutch fleet during the eighty years war with Spain. He captured a large part of the Spanish 'silver' fleet on its' way from Central America back to Spain. The bottle also features several ships along with the Admiral's coat-of-arms on the reverse side. Condition: The bottle shows signs of an old re-glue/repair to the lower right of the bust of the Admiral, otherwise it is in perfect condition.
