A rare early 19th century Camphorwood Seamen's Chest retaining its' original canvas protective cover

Fantastic color and patina, dovetail construction, canted sides, original sailor-made woven rope beckets and period rice paper picture of a Chinese lady on the inside lid. The original canvas lid protector is the only one I've ever seen and it is in great condition. By repute, this chest comes from a local Cape Cod (Dennis, MA) ship captain. H 18" W 37" D 19 1/2"
