A rare Japanese Mariner's Compass presented to the 'American Geographical Society' in 1869

A wonderful and historical object. This compass was presented on March 16, 1869 to the Society by none other than Geoge W. Blunt, the countrys' leading dealer in navigational instruments and publisher of both "Bowditch's NAVIGATOR" as well as the "American Coast Pilot." Diameter 4 1/2"
