A single-draw telescope by J. P. Cutts & Son, circa 1850

J.P. Cutts & Son were appointed "Opticians to Her Majesty Queen Victoria" and were based in Sheffield, England. The firm's trademark, the words "TRY ME" beneath an anchor, appears on the draw tube. Good clear optics. A nearly identical example is on display at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England. Length closed: 20 1/4" Length extended: 36 1/2"
