A very fine English "Officer-of-the Watch" type Mariner's Telescope with Nickel Silver mounts by Ross of London circa 1880.

This very fine single draw scope was made for H R H Edmund Batthyany-Strattmann (1826-1914), a Prince of the Holy Roman Empire and a prolific yacht racer, winner of many cups. The scope measures 17 1/2" closed and extends to 23 1/2" when fully opened. The optics are terrific! This is a very stunning and historic scope.
