A wonderful and quite small cased 19th century diorama featuring a five-masted ship under sail flying an American flag.

This small 19th century cased diorama measures 11" by 6" by 4 1/2". In the background is a lighthouse with a flagpole flying the American flag. In front of the lighthouse is another smaller sailing vessel also flying the American flag. The early painted case features dovetail construction and is missing a vertical molding strip on the front right side.
