A wonderful antique Ships' Medicine Chest circa 1830 made by SPRINGWEILER of London.

Made of beautifully figured mahaogany and having two brass inset 'campaign' style handles, this fine set features a pull out drawer with a lift-out tray, 10 large bottles (most with their original labels), 4 small bottles, 2 tins, a spatula, a glass mortar and pestle and a small group of brass weights. Missing is one bottle and the scale. The makers name is stamped onto the edge of the drawer. Some of the names on the bottles include 'opium, spermaceti ointment, blistering ointment, tartar emetic, calomel, ipecacuanha powder, camphorated spirit, etc.' Size: W 7 1/2" H 8 1/2" d 6 1/2"
