An 18th century Irish mahogany slant-front desk on cabriole legs circa 1750

SOLD

This magnificent 'free standing' Irish slant-front desk has the most graceful cabriole legs with carved scallop shell knees ending in ball and claw feet. The gadrooned apron is typical of this period and is quite stunning. The fitted serpentine form interior is amoungst the best I have ever seen having document slides, pigeon holes and a central recessed prospect door above one long and two short drawers. The brasses also appear to be original. If that weren't enough, the entire back of the piece is finished beautifully in solid mahogany panels. Height: 38 1/2" Width: 37 1/2" Depth: 20 1/2"
