An EXTREMELY RARE pair of PONY EXPRESS bookends by Jennings Brothers circa 1940

This fabulous and RARE pair of nickel silver clad bookends depicts a Pony Express rider in exquisite detail. Each rider has his pistols, bullets, belt, spurs, hat, chaps, whip, face bandana and saddle bags. On the ground is a cattle skull and cactus, etc. Both bookends retain their ORIGINAL PAPER LABELS ON THE BOTTOM. The only other pair of these bookends currently on the market are priced at $2,495.00. NOTE: The original 12' high statue is located in St. Joseph, MO., and was dedicated in 1940. St. Joseph was the starting point for the Pony Express.
