This beautifully detailed copper plate features the entire Declaration of Independence, a depiction of the signatories and their signatures. The plate itself measures 8" by 7 1/4". It has now been beautifully framed. HISTORICAL NOTE: These plates (some were made in silver) were made as gifts to large donors to the Restoration Fund for Independence Hall in Philadelphia. They were made by S H Black of New York and were issued by an Act of Congress in 1859.
