This famous regiment was organized in Boston in June 1861 under the command of Col. Fletcher Webster. He was subsequently killed in august 1862 and command went to Col. James L. Bates. The regiment fought at most of the Civil War's most famous battles including Manassas, Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. This rare survivor printed in 1889 has been beautifully framed and matted and is quite stunning to look at.
