Fine Early 19th Century Pennsylvania .50 Cal Flintlock Rifle Circa 1825

SOLD

Beautiful full stock 'figured tiger maple', this fine example was made for a bench rest and was probably a 'match' rifle. It has double set triggers, inlaid silver star at the cheekpiece, silver escutcheon and tiger maple ramrod. Overall length: 56". The lock plate is stamped "Metcalf London Warranted" and the barrel is signed by the maker S M in flowing script. Reconverted back to original flintlock from percussion. A real beauty!!
