This highly desirable "Lincoln in the chair" bookend was produced by Jennings Brothers of bridgeport, CT., at various times during the 1930's and 1940's. Some were done in two-tone (brass and bronze finish) and others in one tone (bronze finish). This particular pair was assembled from two different production runs, each having a slightly different color tone. One bookend also shows wear where as the other is in 'near mint' condition. One also retains its' original paper label. If both bookends were in 'near mint' condition, the price would be $695.
