A beautiful and important Nantucket "Friendship" basket made by the iconic Gladys Ellis circa 1970

The carved whalebone plaque, clasp and handle are all extremely unusual and are in perfect untouched condition as is the basket itself. The inerior of the lid also has a whalebone plaque inscribed "Anne Elizabeth" the name of Gladys' daughter. Width 9" Height: 5 1/2" depth 6 1/2"
