A late 18th century single-draw mahogany barreled telescope by Gilbert & Gilkerson circa 1795

SOLD

It has become increasingly difficult to find good large hand held 18th century telescopes. This very nice example was made by William Gilbert & James Gilkerson, partners from 1793 to 1809, at their shop on Tower Hill in London circa 1795. Good clear optics. Length closed: 23 1/2" Length extended: 41"
