Fine and Rare mid 19th Century Prismatic Gimbaled Compass in Walnut Case

SOLD

Measuring only 4" high by 4" deep, this beautiful and small prismatic compass is gimbaled and set into a burl walnut case with dark green velvet lining. The compass itself is made of mother-of-pearl and is signed "Singer's" patent and dates to circa 1861-1868.
