The rifle is in original flint, not reconverted. Beautiful full maple stock with great color and patina. One small split to the forestock with a period 'staple' repair. The ramrod appears to be original. The lockplate is stamped 'James Golcher.' Overall length: 59 1/4". A nearly identical example by Fisher is featured on p.98 of 'Gunsmiths of Virginia' by James Whisker published in 1992. Also included is a research note signed by Wallace Gusler in 1974.
