This wonderful pair of English Officer's silver mounted brass barreled flintlock holster pistols were made circa 1778, as indicated by the hallmarks on the silver mounts. The lock plate is stamped "Wilbraham" and the barrells are stamped "Leadenhall Street, London". The pistols have finely engraved silver 'trophy of arms' side plates, engraved trigger guards, escutcheons, ramrod ferrules and fantastic 'grotesque face' buttcaps all the above in sterling silver. Highly figured walnut stocks complete this fine pair of pistols.
