A Pennsylvania Tiger Maple Long Rifle with double set triggers made by Adam Angstadt of Berks County, PA., circa 1795-1805

This gun was clearly made for someone who needed to put food on the table and did not want to pay for extra embellishments. This sturdy example has been reconverted back to flintlock. It has seen heavy usuage during its' working life. The only extra that was paid for was an engraved silver eagle on the cheek piece. The overall length is 57" and the barrel, which is stamped "A.Angstadt," measures 41 1/2". CONDITION: The ramrod is not original and has been shortened. The cock does not hold. There are numerous splices around the lockplate and forestock. Some of the metal parts show light rust and oxidation (which could be easily cleaned). The barrel does have a pleasing mellow patina.
